He is a co-founder and senior executive at Platinum Sports Management, where he focuses on NIL strategy, athlete development, brand partnerships, and long-term career planning for elite collegiate and professional talent. James brings a unique perspective to the NIL space, combining decades of business leadership with a player-first philosophy rooted in structure, discipline, and financial responsibility. His work emphasizes not just maximizing opportunities, but protecting athletes from short-term decisions that can compromise long-term success. Financial literacy, reputation management, and sustainable brand building are central pillars of his approach. In addition to Platinum Sports Management, James is the Founder and Managing Partner of Emerging Markets Consulting, a boutique investor relations and strategic advisory firm that has supported dozens of public and private companies across North America and international markets. He has led capital formation efforts, brand repositioning strategies, and growth initiatives across multiple industries, giving him rare insight into how athletes can transition their platforms into lasting business value. James is also the Co- Founder of A Game Beverage and The Pink Butterfly Foundation in honor of his daughter Fallon Kay Painter James is also deeply committed to mentorship and legacy.
