What makes Henderson’s profile especially compelling is how his traits translate. He runs with urgency and vision, can generate chunk plays behind average blocking, and maintains pace deep into games. Just as importantly, he has proven leadership credentials—captaincy, championship experience, and comfort performing on national stages and stadiums filled with cheering fans.
Alvin Henderson arrived at Auburn in January with a résumé that reads less like a recruiting profile and more like a record book. A 5’9”, 202-pound tailback from Elba, Alabama, Henderson built his game—and his reputation—on explosive production, week-after-week durability, and the kind of competitive edge that shows up when a program needs a tone-setter. He made his Auburn debut against Mercer on November 22, taking the first steps from high school legend to SEC-ready playmaker.
At Elba High School, Henderson didn’t just dominate—he redefined what dominance looks like in Alabama prep football. Serving as a team captain for Coach Marc Sieving and helping lead the Tigers to three region championships, he became the first 10,000-yard rusher in Alabama state history, finishing with 10,923 rushing yards on 748 carries (14.6 yards per carry) and an astounding 202 total touchdowns.
Henderson averaged 192 yards per game, delivered 46 100-yard games, and set 15 state records, including a record-setting single season that established him as one of the most productive runners the state has ever seen. His production combined breakaway speed with decisive, downhill running and the stamina to carry an offense every week.
National recognition followed the numbers. Henderson earned major honors such as Class 1A Back of the Year (three times), MaxPreps State Player of the Year, and AL.com A-List recognition. On the all-star stage, he elevated his profile even further—earning MVP honors at the U.S. Navy All-American Bowl and competing in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. Recruiting services validated what the film and statistics already confirmed: Rivals rated him the top running back prospect in the nation, and he consistently ranked among the top overall recruits in Alabama across major outlets.
Off the field, Henderson brings substance to match the spotlight. He’s active in community service, and his multi-sport background—lettering in both baseball and basketball—speaks to overall athleticism and competitive versatility. Born on September 12, he is the son of Catina Washington and one of nine children, with eight siblings: Ayden, DaDa, Cordell, Marshawn, Malia, Zy, Maddie, and McKenzie. Now studying in Auburn’s College of Liberal Arts, Henderson steps into the next phase of his career with the same identity that fueled his rise: a relentless, high-output runner whose standard is production, leadership, and big-game performance.
